Youth Leadership and Development

Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders and we must continue to educate our future leaders on being good stewards of the environment. Youth programs will include:

Global Rivers Environmental Education Network (GREEN)

It is an action-oriented, interdisciplinary watershed education program designed to promote watershed sustainability.

Adopt-A-Watershed

The program uses a local watershed as a living laboratory where youth study and monitor local watersheds.

4-H Wetlands Project

This youth program is designed to explore the environmental importance of estuaries, salt marshes, and swamps.

Storm Drain Stenciling/Marking

Promotes stewardship by painting messages or placing markers on local storm drains. The program reminds the public that what goes down a storm drain flows directly to a nearby river or estuary and is not treated in a wastewater facility.

Action for a Cleaner Tomorrow

This program is designed to teach students about their daily habits and how to make environmentally responsible choices.
