Today there are 113 million computer users in this country, and 41 percent of all adults use the Internet. In this digital age, our world will be linked by fast communication, where virtually every person is affected. We now have a new way to share, collaborate and educate.
The Internet is also changing the land-grant university systems and is providing opportunities for people to take advantage of expertise and education. As an Extension Service, the Internet is becoming an invaluable tool. People are able to access customized information and address needs in minutes without leaving their homes.
The magnitude of adding an E-Learning component to the Water Quality and Quantity Initiative is immeasurable. By implementing an E-Learning Component, we would be able to reach more people, faster, and at lower cost.
