The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Office of Environmental Quality Management is involved with the protection of the environment and is organized into program areas concerning solid waste and hazardous waste management, drinking water protection, water pollution control, and air quality control. Solid Waste Disposal and Recycling
The Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling was created by the South Carolina Solid Waste Policy and Management Act of 1991. As part of DHEC’s Division of Solid Waste Management, the Office is committed to helping the state reach its goals to reduce the amount of solid waste generated in South Carolina.
